Flesh & bone under water
Soul flying away
Which will be reborn?
No one can say

Is she in the dark river
Or lost to the sea?
Only the ghost knows
The ghost that is she

Staying with the ‘dark’ theme, here’s a new piece of music I’ve composed, aimed at the Scandinavian ‘Noir’ Murder TV/film market. It’s titled ‘Hidden Elsewhere’ and will also be on my forthcoming album, out soon. I hope you enjoy;

  1. Very intriguing, and enjoyable this morning. Love it

Thank you. The arrival of a music type concept is never announced. This one – a thing that doesn’t happen to me too much – just appeared. It was only when other musician’s said ‘wow’ I had one of those rare moments of feeling good about about myself.

      1. I love those ‘wow’ moments. I sit and go, hey, where did that come from? Creativity is like nothing else.
        Thanks for sharing that ^_^

I was discussing ‘creativity’ within someone who knows more things than I do recently. We decided ‘creativity’ was female for a host of reasons. Long may she linger.

      3. That is an intriguing thought. Is she a femme fatale as well as an ingénue ?

      4. Zoolon says:

I don’t think so. Just clever.

  2. Beautiful. Looking forward to the new album.

Thank you. I’ve got so much on the go at the moment I’m not sure where the album is going. The genres are varied, but they have to be friends with each other. I think I’m on the right track – I hope I am.

  3. WOW. Serious wow. Love the poem. Then here’s your new piece. I hope you have submitted it places. It’s fantastic from start to finish and I do think it would work well in the kind of market you are talking about . best of luck with this.

Thanks, Shey. I have a bit of history with Scandinavian ‘Noir’. Before I started this business I had a lot of interest from the Danish, but back then I didn’t have the kit I’ve got now. I am revisiting old contacts asap as I’ve got an even darker piece on the go right now.

  4. That was a totally awesome listen. 🙂

You just made my day. Thank you.

      1. It’s the type of music I write to because it’s so evocative. The muse perks right up. 🙂

Love the music, and the poem is just a gem, no less.

      Thank you, Inese.

  6. Oooo, I see why you call this “Noir.” The pacing for the build is excellent and, well, you know me–I’m a sucker for the layering upon the melody line. The balance between piano, strings, and percussion is spot on, and I love the restraint of the guitar. It makes me think of a thwarted hero who rises up, determined to never let it happen again.
That, and the music fits perfectly with this rainy, autumn day here. This track is officially one of my favorites. xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks. I was quite pleased with this one. Luck’s be on my side for a few days now. I have hope for a new song. I think I’m up to nearly 200 layers and still have the electric guitar and voice to add. Fingers crossed it’ll be a special track.

      1. Oooooooooo. That *does* sound most promising. Can’t wait! 🙂

  7. Aw!! Love this. Perfect for my writing this morning. I’ve been playing it over and over, very meditative, and the beat plays along with my fingers as I’m trying to complete my novel. This is a wonderful piece Zoolon.

    1. Zoolon says:

Thank you so much. It’s one that should make the cut for the new album Zoolon is currently working on. Are you writing something ‘dark’?

      1. I’m looking forward to your album. Actually, the story I’m writing now is just a mystery with a little bit of supernatural, nothing dark. But your music is great for any genre.

    Brilliant! Super talent.
