(one I took of the ferry from France just outside the harbour on an eerie Sunday morning)
What’s the worst thing that can happen when you’ve got a sore throat (apart from being bitten by a venomous snake or being killed in a tragic accident)? Answer? Choking on seaweed. I bet that in the whole history of all humanity, not many people get to do that. I did. Chinese Crispy Seaweed was the culprit, coupled with me being starving hungry having forgotten to eat all day and then eating too quick was the cause. At least I lived to tell the tale. Maybe worse things are on the horizon – a song yet to be born;
Wings without feathers
Feet without shoes
Hearts without heartstrings
That’s why I’m singing The Blues
This punch-drunk planet keeps on spinning
It’s so way out of touch
For in its West and its East lands
Leaders speak in double-Dutch
The rhetoric of morons
Big mouths mouthing off
Spitting hellfire and fury
In a ‘mine’s bigger than yours’ standing off
‘My bomb knows where you live mate’
‘I’ll blow you to Kingdom come’
‘You ain’t seen nothing yet’
‘Just wait till this war has begun’
‘We’ll trade tarmac for giant craters’
‘In a shock-wave fireball’
‘Wiping out innocent billions’
Just for the sake of the brawl
They’ll get away with mass murder
When there’s no judges left to judge
Reprising the Cain v Abel title fight
Just for the sake of their ego grudge
Wings without feathers
Feet without shoes
Hearts without heartstrings
That’s why I’m singing The Blues
Here’s one of my older pieces of music. An experimental one, entitled ‘Decider’. Topical?
Here’s link to ‘DREAM RESCUER’. It costs not much, and is available worldwide. If you fancy buying it and feel able to post a review on Bandcamp, I’d appreciate it.

Decider has a very cool vibe about it. Not like the deciders in some other places 😉 As for the ego grudge your poetic words speak of… Powerful indeed.

George, this is a gorgeous photo of the ferry dwarfed by the vastness of the water. Brilliant, much like the individual dwarfed by the masses and games of follow the leader. I love that you paired this photo with your, “song yet to be born”. You never know what can ignite the power of change, a very poignant lyric. I’m looking forward to hearing the completed song. ~ Mia, ER&C

‘I’m as mad as hell’ does it for me, Mia. Great video. I think – just a random thought – that the US should make sure all the people in North Korea somehow get free access to the internet; somehow give them free tablets/laptops, then once they’ve seen how to rest of the planet just about gets by, there’ll be a revolution. Problem sorted.

I hate the writing itch–not the writing part. I love the writing part. But I love that I can’t treat it, DO it. That I just have to live with the words in my head, scratching to get out, because Life Demands Me.

How do you remember to words you have to live with? That has to be so hard?

I do forget, often. I grumble and force myself to move on. sometimes, though, I have my small black notebook, and I get the scribbles down in time. But it rarely is enough–like putting together three pieces instead of the whole puzzle. It’s not as much as I wanted to get done, and leaving the rest of the pieces on the table only promises a few will go missing before I get back to it.

Your photograph is stunning. Its peacefulness is in contrast to the poem. I wish people treasured peace.

Thank you, Tashnee. I appreciate your offer. My problem is not enough hours in the day. I’m am struggling with so much work at the moment sometimes I don’t even know what day it is; plus I often get so busy I forget to eat! I’ll pass on this, but please accept my thanks for your kindness, George aka Zoolon.

Nice one! I believe that most people in NK do not have access to internet or to any news whatsoever. There for they are in an isolated bubble where they have to believe what they are told. Also in the current regime any protest or deviation from the Dear Leader’s policy would result in imprisonment and torture. So yes , you are right , if internet access and access to outside news could be infiltrated into NK it would be the best possible weapon.

It seems logical and should be right up there with diplomacy when it comes to sorting the matter out, Anne.

I enjoy the complexity of decider. You always inspire me to get back into composing music 🎶 but first things first I have to make it to this drum class that inspires me. I’m feeling fortunate for all this inspiration, despite all my angst and grief. Enjoyed your song lyrics and hope we all don’t blow up so we can keep creating, making, and living. Kudos!
